Handmade Incense Sticks

Incense has been used for centuries in many cultures. Incense can be used to clear negative energies and provide a sense of tranquillity to any room or place. Smells evoke emotion, which in turn can help to put the mind at ease and can deeply move and inspire us. Our superior quality long burning incense sticks are hand rolled and produced in India using the ancient Sanskrit MASALA method of herbal incense production. Indian incense is made by creating a type of slurry of oils and resins; this is then hand rolled around a wood stick. This incense is made entirely of resins and natural ingredients - nothing synthetic. This method allows for very different scents and a distinctive quality and the same method which has been done this way for hundreds of years, and is considered “traditional” incense.

Indian Incense produced in this manner by blending finer quality pure ingredients is far superior to the bulk of most contemporary incense, which is usually manufactured cheaply by dipping a charcoal stick into a chemical solution or oil. The quality of the oil and the length the stick is soaked is what makes the difference in the quality of the incense.
